BREEAM New Construction Ecohomes

The Ecohome scheme formed the basis for the "Code for Sustainable Homes" in 2006. It provides a rating for new,converted and renovated homes covering flats and houses.

Begun in 2000 Ecohomes was mandatory for new builds from 2003 with a good or very good rating being required form 2005.

In England,Wales and Northern Ireland the CfSH has been used since 2007. The Ecohome scheme is still used in Scotland.

A new Domestic refurbishment scheme came into use in 2011 it replaces Ecohomes for conversion projects and major Refurbishments.
