The Environment Agency in the North West is working with the Freshwater Biological Association (FBA) on a project to make our data more widely available and accessible to the public.

Healthcare,NEW Construction BREEAM Scheme.

BREEAM Healthcare is an enviromental assessment method that was commissioned by the Department for Health and can be used at all stages of a building's life cycle.The scheme can be used to assess the enviromental BREEAM from UK Accreditation impact of occupied or unoccupied Healthcare buildings.

The Department of Health require,for planning approval,that all new builds achieve an excellent rating and that refurbishments achieve a very good rating.

The following types can be assessed.

Teaching hospitals.
General Acute Hospitals.
Community and mental Health Hospitals.
GP Surgeries.
Health centres and clinics.

BREEAM New Construction Ecohomes

The Ecohome scheme formed the basis for the "Code for Sustainable Homes" in 2006. It provides a rating for new,converted and renovated homes covering flats and houses.

Begun in 2000 Ecohomes was mandatory for new builds from 2003 with a good or very good rating being required form 2005.

In England,Wales and Northern Ireland the CfSH has been used since 2007. The Ecohome scheme is still used in Scotland.

A new Domestic refurbishment scheme came into use in 2011 it replaces Ecohomes for conversion projects and major Refurbishments.
